22 opera, 9 concert and 3 children’s opera performances plus 2 singing competition rounds later…
Warm thanks to all the 70,000 of you who visited the Opera Festival this summer. We celebrated three great milestones: 100 years of Finnish independence, 50 of the present Festival and 30 of foreign opera house visits. You’ll find photos of some of the season’s highlights on our Facebook site.
One proof that this was a special season was the attendance by the Finnish and Russian Presidents at the performance of Iolanta by the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow as part of President Putin’s working visit to 100-year-old Finland.
